Highlights of Shikhar Mehrotra tenure as a President
- Essay writing workshop: Held on February 5th, 2017, as an effort to prepare eighth graders to apply for high school at Academic Magnet.
- IAGC Master-Chef: Held at the Culinary Institute of Trident tech. event and was covered by our local newspaper Post & Courier.
- Shifa Clinic Fund Raising Event: IAGC was one of the Gold sponsors for
this fund-raising event that was attended by several IAGC members.
North Charleston Arts Festival (NCAF): IAGC participated at the NCAF held at the Charleston area convention center.
International Festival: Was held at Dorchester High School on 22nd April 2017.
The Children’s Museum of the Low Country organized its annual Holiday Extravaganza on December 2, 2017.
IAGC organized a visit to the BOEING facility with help from one of the IAGC member a Boeing employee.
The celebrations for Indian Independence Day were held on August 19th at the James Island High School. Teamed up with AMGC (Amateur music group of Charleston) and artists Latha Hebbar, Rupak Mukherjee, Mrs. Purnima Pai, Leena Karambelkar, and Mr. Sonny Dugal displayed their artwork, towards a silent auction to generate funds for donations towards Jaipur foot organization. In addition, an open auction was held during the show and an overwhelming and generous response by the community helped IAGC reach its goal of $21,000 towards a major social cause.
The annual event of IAGC this year was held at the West Ashley High School and was well attended by over 200 families including members and non-members.

Celebrated Gandhi jayanthi at Pinewood elementary
India Fest was celebrated at a grand scale at Liberty square in downtown Charleston, which included food, dance performances, henna and music.
